Lawn Mowers: The Essential Power Tool for Lawn Care
We offer a wide selection of top-rated, name-brand push and riding lawn mowers and accessories. Whether you’re looking for gas, electric, or even a manual model, we have a range of Honda mowers, Toro mowers, and options from other best-selling brands like STIHL, to ensure you find the best equipment for your needs.
Riding Mowers
Homeowners with large or uneven yards may find a riding mower to be the ideal solution.
ZTR (zero-turn) mowers make it easy to navigate every crook and corner of any lawn, whether big or small. The powerful engines ZTR mowers pack make fast work of mowing large open spaces, while their front caster wheel design makes it easy to mow around trees, shrubs, and garden beds.
Push Mowers
Homeowners with smaller or flat lawns can find everything they need for easy lawn maintenance in a classic push lawnmower. Walk-behind mowers come in a range of options to suit a variety of needs, from manual models that get all their muscle from the user to self-propelled mowers that put in the effort, so you don’t have to.
Manual lawn mowers get all their muscle from you and are a good choice if you have a small plot or are willing to exert more effort to mow your lawn without relying on external power sources.
Gas mowers typically use a pull-start and are powered by gasoline. Every lawnmower is different, so it’s important to always consult your manufacturer’s guide and use the gas and oil recommended for your model.
Electric mowers come in both corded and cordless models. They typically start with the flick of a switch or push of a button and tend to operate with less noise than their gas counterparts.
Self-propelled Mowers require less effort than standard push mowers, and there are both rear-wheel and front-wheel-drive models that suit a variety of needs and conditions.

Frequently Asked Lawn & Garden Questions
How do I sharpen my lawn mower blades?
First, remove and clean the blade. Then identify which side of the blade is the cutting edge. Using metal files you can sharpen the blade by hand or you can use a blade sharpener, bench grinder, or angle grinder. Only sharpen the blade so it’s as sharp as a butter knife. The edge shouldn’t cut your finger.
How do I keep pests out of my garden?
For large pests like rabbits, chicken wire fencing is often effective. For small pests like bugs, you can use chemical pesticides or natural repellents. Aromatic herbs like yarrow, citronella, mint, fennel, catnip, basil, and lemongrass work well as natural repellents.
What does a single-stage or two-stage snowblower mean?
The main difference between a single-stage and two-stage snowblower is that a two-stage snowblower has an induction accelerator while a single-stage does not. The induction accelerator allows snow blowers to move up to 50 percent faster than a single-stage, which means they are more efficient and leave very little snow behind. However, they can require more maintenance.
What is my gardening zone?
Your gardening zone depends on where you live. The vast majority of the state of Montana falls into Montana USDA growing zones 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5a and 5b. There is a small section in the state’s northwest region that falls into a 6a-growing zone. For more information, check USDA’s planting zone map.
What kind of oil does a lawn mower take?
Different oils are needed for different types of lawnmowers. Four-stroke engines take oil separately from gasoline. 10W30 is a common motor oil grade for four-stroke engines. Two-stroke engines require a different oil to be mixed directly with gas before being poured into the tank. Check your user manual to see what type of oil is best for your engine.
Customer Reviews

I love going into the downtown ACE. I can easily walk there from my house and always bring my little dog who is now known by most of the salespeople. There is always someone ready and eager to help. When I was little, there was a wonderful hardware store on the main avenue of my hometown. It had wood floors and wall cabinets on the doors of which hung examples of the merchandise inside–a tantalizing array of screws and nails and hooks, etc. I remember the kind salesmen and can even conjure up the smell. ACE Downtown has many of the same qualities, the foremost one being the friendly, informed salespeople who make every visit a pleasure. My dog agrees!
